The job of an auditor is very complex as there are a lot of complex calculations that need to be done. Despite being hard, a lot of people in Ireland go through various courses and extensive training to become an auditor. There are a lot of institutes that offer training and coaching so that you can become an auditor. A lot of reputed colleges provide lead auditor courses in Ireland, which you can avail to kick start your career.
The following is a guide to help you in the process:
Accounting degree – The first thing that you will need to become an auditor is to have a degree in accounting. If you have just finished your school, you can go for under-graduate programs like BA in accounting and finance. If you have already done your undergraduate course, you can go for any of the master degrees related to accounting like Masters in accounting which is a two year long course.
Apply for CPA – After completion of your degree, you will have to work in a firm where you will have to perform various accounting procedures, auditing etc.for several years. You should have experience both managerial and supervisory role along with progressing through various levels of responsibility. Once you have done all this, you will need to apply for CPA (Certified Practicing Accountants) in order to be recognized as a qualified auditor.
Final step – Once your application for CPA is accepted, you will have to complete at least 120 hours in working and training over the course of next 3 years.
